Cattle Decapitation - Terrasite

#FOR FANS OF: Progressive Death Metal
Loud, blasphemous, and never letting up, Cattle Decapitation's 'Terrasite' is in my opinion one of the best metal releases of last year. Let me explain. The vocals take on one aspect of the album, one screaming and one hoarse throat. The music, the drums, and the production quality is immaculate. You find the vocals always fluctuating, the music brutal, and this whole release from start to finish is never-ending death metal. The only thing that took me a little bit of time accepting were the screaming voice. But I like how they take it back and forth. The tempos are ever-changing, the intense drums and the original sounding guitar riffs are enticingly invigorating.

This is the first album that I've heard from the band, and they have quite a discography. I couldn't pick a better way to find them being listed in MetalInjection.net's best of 2023. I felt that way as previously mentioned. And well, actually this release has vocals in three different types: screaming, hoarse, and clean. Hence, the progressive death metal diagnoses. They cover it all in almost an hour in length.

For most of this release, it is intense. The closing song entitled "Just Another Body" is where the progressive sound in the vocals/music takes on. Most of this album does fluctuate. But most of it in retrospect is death metal. I mean fast and ferocious death metal.

The intro gets you pumped in what you're about to hear: ferocious riffs/music. I mean, ear-piercing. Every part of this album is filled with intensity, and where they want to slow it up in the outro song is fine because most of it never lets up. The lead guitar, rhythm, and every aspect of vocals that you can imagine is well received. But get ready for some extreme intensity. One of my outstanding monuments, you can imagine. Coming from death metal, turning into progressive death metal. But most of this release is blistering and uncompromising. These guys do well on the songwriting aspect. What an original and talented act of whom knows how to blare in your eardrums with this unimaginable and ferocious extreme metal! (Death8699)

Cannibal Corpse - The Wretched Spawn

#FOR FANS OF: Brutal Death
What a BLAST of Cannibal Corpse tearing apart your speakers. I've never before listened to this album, nor have I ever owned it then gotten rid of it. It's staying in my collection! All-Star lineup featuring Jack, Pat, Alex, Corpsegrinder and Paul. This is one of their better line-ups though Rob and Eric are in the slot of guitar duties. Sounds like they're in B-flat tuning and have that ultra thick sound on the axe's. Corpsegrinder has range on here, especially with the screams! The music went well along with the vocals. Everything seemed to fit into place on this one. No complaints really, just Jack has never really been strong on his lead playing.

I thought the songs were well written musically. Just never been into the gore lyrics, I tend to focus on the music as well as the sound of the vocals. The drums are usually solid, no complaints there. The production was top-notch, it really does sound great. These guys did good on here, though I feel that there's a tinge of the past, then paves the modern way Cannibal sounds. The riffs just kick ass here, wholeheartedly. Corpsegrinder is better than Barnes ever was! That's my opinion at least, the guitars and drums just favor the way Corpsegrinder conducts his Barnes had no range.

As I've mentioned, the sound quality or production it was top-notch! The music was well mixed and everything was woven in smoothly. This is one of my favorite Cannibal releases to date. It's just completely brutal and in your face. The riffs just talk to you so to speak. You hear Jack and Pat rip it up. It was all five of them kicking ass. No holds barred here, these guys are just legends. I'll never favor the lyrics but as long as the music goes, I'll always be a fan. Their latest 'Violence Unimagined' was good though I think this one is tighter. The sound of the guitars and the vocals are better here!

I took a chance since 'Vile' didn't do anything for me and man I was blown away! It's much more convenient to stream this than to get the actual CD. Show support for the band and buy this album. If you don't have a CD player, buy one! I'm that passionate about this album shining through and though! Top 3 of my Cannibal albums this one fits in there. How can I make such a statement? Play this in your car, then you'll hear what I'm talking about. All the songs were good, they were strong the whole album. Beats your eardrums to shreds hailz Cannibal Corpse with this masterpiece! Midnight - Let There Be Witchery

#FOR FANS OF: Black/Speed Metal
A truly likable band that has two genres mixed into one. They put on a good live show as well! I like the fact that they're a metal band that sounds just as they do without the likes of other bands. Unique riffs and songwriting. The vocals suit them well with the music too! I hope that they continue making newer and newer albums. This past tour with Mayhem they didn't steal the show but put on a great performance. I liked their entire set. They really have a lot of energy to them and the riff-writing for this studio release was top-notch. They know how to write some pretty great songs that captures like no other.

The riffs are the best part of the album! They totally light up the speakers and they've shown that they can continuously write music that is catchy and unique. The album is only about 34 minutes but the whole way through they kill it!

Some really wicked unique riffs on the guitar front. These guys just dominate and on purpose. They've demonstrated that as a few members that are in the band that they can be ultra creative. The leads are just somewhat of a drawback. But still, they dominate!

Production quality is also good. A really well rounded album all the way through! I'm glad that I picked this up and saw them live. I'm not familiar with their older stuff but it seems as though they got some similar ratings. I'm not surprised that this black/speed metal band has done well even with the lack of people that they have at their live shows. I'm happy that the album emulated their live show. The music is what stole the show for me. They totally know how to create good guitar riffs throughout. It's not likely that you'll hear a band that has these two different genres into one. Absolutely phenomenal! (Death8699)

Vomitory - All Heads Are Gonna Roll

#FOR FANS OF: Death Old School
Straight forward death metal with a big-ass kick to it! Various different tempos in the guitar riffing and combine that with screaming/low bellow vocals puts these guys in a different realm! They thoroughly kick some serious ass! Their music is pretty unique and insurmountable. No doubt that this release is nothing under an 75 rating. The intensity is high and there's a plethora of blast beating. They remind me a little of blackened death metal to the likes of a band named Blood of the Wolf via Chicago, Illinois. Not entirely, but they sure as hell resemble it somewhat. Few may disagree, but I think I've narrowed it down.

The vocals along with the music go steadfast and without any compromise. The vibe is there with the death metal kicking serious ass! I was impressed when I first heard this! It's my introduction to Vomitory. Thanks for the recommendation from a friend!

The music is all over the place, but not in a bad sense. Just that it's constantly fluctuating. It makes it unique and always what's guessing that's to come next?! I really dig everything about this release. The music mostly. It's filled with varying degrees of intensity. I've grown a great liking to this album the more spins I give it.

I was surprised to learn that these guys are from Sweden but they don't use the traditional Swedish pedal that a lot of Swedes do with their guitars. I'm glad that they changed up that sort of typical sounds with traditional death metal from that part of the country. I'm totally in awe about how unique this band is with all the tempo changes and the vocals. The drums are right alongside the music and it's tight. The vocals though kick ass and keep the sound to be totally underground! The music here is all their own concoction and the fury/anger is totally felt in the music. I'm surprised that they're not entirely well-known.

They sure as hell keep it brutal and I like this entire album. There isn't a song on here that I disliked. All of this releases just grapples me. And it seems that they got some positive press. Definitely a thumbs-up to those who recognize good death metal! (Death8699)

Primordial - Spirit the Earth Aflame

BACK IN TIME: recensione gentilmente concessa da Nihil Zine

Cannibal Corpse - Kill

#FOR FANS OF: Brutal Death
Ferocious and unrelenting this is a MONUMENT of death metal and a boon to Cannibal Corpse's discography. Even though this is 15+ years old, it's still popular among my death metal choices when feeling I need brutal. The guitars are chunky and thick, just what the meat holder's in their cast iron brains in belting out amazing/metamorphosis style metal. I was surprised it took a while before I noticed more/less of this. So here now is it's justice! It's hit-or-miss when it comes to Corpse but they've managed to put out some good LP's following this one. Pat O'Brien is no longer with the band, but I still think they're making monstrous material.

Here, Corpsegrinder shows us again the diversity in his vocals from guttural to screaming. It was amazing his story in metal history. He was the guy who didn't want to do work in classes just sing in a band. Well, he found it and they found him a good replacement for Chris Barnes. Barnes should be edging retirement after some poor Six Feet Under releases while Corpsegrinder continues to belt it out! He does so quite unbelievably. And Corpse still has a long life left enter Eric Rutan on rhythm/lead guitars. Though the new one doesn't pack as much of a punch than this one does. Hard to surpass this release!

The production quality is quite good and that being said the music is justified in the guitars enter everything else. I must be a guitar player but it's not what I notice everything in a recording. The music on here is just devastating! They put together a lot of quality riffs that at times are hard to grasp probably because they're in B-flat tuning. I surmount that both guitarists Rob and Pat worked equally on designing sick riffs to this release. The good thing about this is that everything fit together nicely to some brutal death metal! Everything seemed to be great here and they as a band work well together plus I'm sure it's a big loss to lose Pat.

I bought this a while ago, just thought I'd write about it now since it's still getting air-time in my stereo. They don't seem to disappoint here, my favorite things about this one are the guitars and vocals. Their latest 'Violence Unimagined' is tight too but not as thick as the chunky guitar is here. Nor are the leads as good. This is one of my favorite Corpse releases aside from the early stuff ('Butchered At Birth' & 'Tomb of the Mutilated'). I'd have to say that 'Torture' and 'A Skeletal Domain' are my favorites as well. 'Kill' is among the many fine releases from and unrelenting and brutal group CANNIBAL CORPSE is! Check this out! Cannibal Corpse - Bloodthirst

#FOR FANS OF: Brutal Death
What a killer album that has so many highlights to it! Brutal death metal like they always deliver but the riffs are just fantastic. And the vocals. Everything seemed to fit in on this release. It's one of my favorites from them! This one is a step-up from 'Gallery of Suicide'. The riffs are better and so are the vocals! It seems like this album has a lot of balls to it. Uncompromising death metal the whole way through. It just doesn't seem to let up at all whatsoever! The only drawback is that it's a little over 34 minutes, but intense nevertheless. I find not many flaws with the playing at all and Corpsegrinder's vocals go well with the guitar.

The songs were key to get into the guitar mostly. That crunch tone with guitars that are in B-flat tuning. Totally brutal! The sound quality was top notch. No mistakes there! This album was released almost 25 years ago and still is a top Cannibal release. A few hit-or-miss with this band though just a few flops in their entire discography. I like the Corpsegrinder era of Cannibal though there were a couple of good releases with Barnes on vocals. I would say 'Butchered At Birth' and 'Tomb of the Mutilated' were the best in the Barnes' era. I just don't think he has the range that Corpsegrinder has.

The production quality was superb and every instrument was in sync hands down! There's really nothing to dislike here especially with death metal fans. Some of my favorites from Cannibal besides the two Barnes was on (previously mentioned) but with Corpsegrinder 'The Wretched Spawn', 'Gallery of Suicide', 'Torture', 'A Skeletal Doman', 'Red Before Black' and 'Violence Unimagined'. So it's fair to say that the most consistent they've been with Corpsegrinder. This one is top and 'Kill' is another killer release by them. But it sucks that Pat O'brien is no longer with the band. Meth addiction rendered him insane!

I bought this CD. I'm not saying that you should too if CD's aren't your "thing" at this point. Most people just stream music which doesn't really benefit the band much. Cannibal has come a long way from their origin up until now. They're still kicking ass and 'Bloodthirst' is a monument. Everything seemed to fit musically and vocal wise. I would check it out if you haven't yet. Everything just conquered! They just needed it to be longer but I didn't take points off for that. think this is one of their top releases in the 90's Cannibal era. This is an album that's difficult to top! Check it out if you haven't already! (Death8699)

Amon Amarth - The Great Heathen Army

#FOR FANS OF: Viking Metal
This is a solid release. I'm not a big fan of this band but I'll have to say that they did a good job with the guitar riffs. That's what stands out the most for me. And the vocals go well with the music. They're really in sync altogether. The production quality is solid too. I'm not a fan of the lyrical concepts, but they did well altogether on this release. There's a few guest musicians on here briefly you can hear the power metal vocals on one of the later track ("Saxons and Vikings"). I'm a bit surprised there hasn't been all high ratings for this album. It's really a good album, it has all the makings of quality melodic death metal.

The music carries with the vocals quite good! The rhythms/melodies are quite good for a band that I've overlooked for far too long. These guys do a good job of piecing the music together and making it work well. The tempos weren't exceptionally fast. In fact, they had some pretty wicked rhythms and melodies. About 43 minutes of sheer melodic death galore. And the Viking spirit reigns supreme on here. The tempos are pretty slow on here but wholly melodic. They seem to piece everything together where it flows. The only thing that I dislike somewhat are the vocals. I just think that they could've been arranged better.

Overall, I think this album is solid. The vocals aren't my favorite but the music hit-home with me! The riffs are ok, not their greatest but still catchy and full of life! The vocals go well alongside the music. Though I have to be in a certain mood to tolerate the vocals. I like the melodies and it's consistent the whole album. For the naysayers, they say that they're not a fan of their music. I think that since they're in the melodic death metal genre, they're pretty solid on here. I actually got the CD of this I was tired of the digital download. To me, it's important to show respect for the band not just streaming music.

The production quality was good on here and the sound to the music was solid, well mixed. They definitely got their act together for this one. I don't think it's better than a "75" on here. I think they deserve it. You'll have to test the waters with this one. I suppose that you'll really like it or just think it's garbage. I liked it and I thought it was consistent. The guitars were my favorite instrument throughout. As I say, you have to be in the mood to play this, otherwise it might be irritating. If you're a die-hard fan, that statement doesn't apply. Since I'm not overly familiar with the band, I thought this is a solid release! (Death8699)

Cannibal Corpse - Butchered At Birth

#FOR FANS OF: Brutal Death
This is a top album by the band over their enormous career. The fact that it's a follow-up from the debut album, they show much superiority in songwriting here, my favorite ever. Barnes is better on here than 'Tomb of the Mutilated', he wasn't so burly sounding, just gruesome enough to show us that he's at his mightiest. The tempos of the songs are pretty fast and the riffs are top-notch. So are the leads. I'm surprised that at early on their style was ingenious. They knew how to construct death metal that has now lasted over 30 years. On 'Butchered At Birth', they took time to formulating riffs that instill precision.

There is no downfall found in this album, it's purely immaculate in its entirety. They really show the listener what a great release is where it's at: IT'S ON HERE! Barnes has no variability on here. It's purely deep throat the whole way through and the guitars are as I've said ingenious. The leads are quality too. I think it took quite a while to construct music like this because not only is it original sounding, but it's unique too. All of the songs took a shit-ton of guts to put forth throughout the entire entourage. These guys know how to kill it and not only that but KILL IT ALL THE WAY THROUGH THE ALBUM!

It's my favorite Cannibal Corpse release to this date. I'm not just jumping on the bandwagon here, I'm being honest about my preference in this respect. Barnes is solid the whole way through the way that wasn't evident on it's predecessor nor the follow-up from this on 'Tomb of the Mutilated'. I've found no flaws on this album and it'll continue to remain my favorite of all time. The music, vocals, production and sound quality is all tight. And Jack/Bob rip it up here on the guitars. Original member Alex Webster racks it on bass as well. Not to mention Glen Benton guest vocals on a track on here to show you that they were at a high level early on.

I bought this CD a while ago and you can probably hear it on YouTube if you're a newbie death metal fan or metal fan at that. I didn't find any flaws on here throughout the release. I would say support the band and buy the CD. And forget the digital, pull out your boom box and listen to it on there. That's where I started listening to it so take back time and go old school! These guys always showed that potential and on here they deliver. Definitely will remain my favorite release on here of all time but that doesn't mean the newer material is bad in any respect! Check this out! (Death8699)

Valkyrja - Contamination

#FOR FANS OF: Black Metal, Marduk
What a black metal onslaught! And depressing as hell. I like the rhythm guitars and the vocals. It's typical fast-paced black metal with an aura of a grim setting throughout. I enjoyed this whole release! I don't care what the ratings are for this, I thought that it was solid! Pretty fast songs that actually fluctuate tempo-wise. The sound quality was good as well. I like the vocals, too! What invigorating yet solemn songs. It's hell of worth checking out to hear some grim songs. Tempos do change but the variety makes you guessing throughout. I thought that all the songs are good. Great Swedish metal mongers.

I've never heard of this band before hitting the record store this past week and thought it might be interesting. I was right about it and found it quite entertaining. I think the biggest factor is the variation in tempos. So yeah, there always going to keep you guessing on here. The music is my favorite, absolutely! The riffs were a lot of tremolo picking and down-picking. It doesn't let up till bam it gets slow and dark. That's why I like this one it's not even close to a 'Panzer Division Marduk' it's more of what's suitable for this band. They know how to be right in the composition factor. I didn't have any issues as far as that goes.

I like the sound quality to this recording. The production is damn good and the instruments were well blended into the mix. I like also that nothing was left out instrument or vocal wise. Such a great release that's just stunning when you first hear it. It's about an hour in length I don't like too many short albums (with exceptions). I thought that they did a great job though they do resemble other black metal bands but not entirely. I think that they have their own sound and vibe to their music. Sure as heck I'm going to support them because they to me are simply and awesome quartet. They really hit home!

Check this album out! I thought it pretty innovative and surprisingly good black metal. They did well in terms of a follow-up from their debut. I don't really have a beef with this recording at all. I'm not listening to anyone regarding the release. They wrote some dynamic songs and deserve a good rating to them! Please do yourself a favor and look into this album. Even if it is Spotify or YouTube that you find this it's worth it! You will not be disappointed. Especially if you are a black metal fan especially Swedish based you'll love it! Take my word for it! Dew-Scented - Intermination

#FOR FANS OF: Death/Thrash
This some intense material! I'd say that this one is more "thrash oriented" than "death oriented" but definitely a mixture of the two. Being the outro album from the band, they sure wrapped it up with the clincher. It's the best one that I've heard from them or riffing oriented it is! I admire their unique style to approaching songs. They seem to have their "own" sound to this past releases as well but I believe this is one of more aggressive ones to their discography. I enjoyed it from start to finish. You have to give them credit for being a part of the metal community with a certain wit to their songs. At least scoring two genres into one.

I did notice the fact that every album of theirs starts with an "I". Not sure why they did this but it is rather unique. Everything about this album and band is unique. I believe that this one again is their strongest to date. They did it all right on here. Such aggression! The vocals go well with the guitars. Everything seemed to fit well into each song. I liked all the songs on here. They sure as hell blew my eardrums away! More thrash as I said than death oriented metal. I think that they really did want to go out with a "bang" here. Whatever the reason, it's a great album!

Music was well orchestrated, production quality quite well done and mixing was top notch. They seem to lure you in with a quiet intro which segues into brutality. This one literally is LOUD. The riffs are the best things on here though everything fit in with the compositions. I believe that this band was truly unique. They wanted to do something that no one else has done before. Of course, showing their influences like Slayer for example it's relevant that this band was fueled with fire! They molded their influences into their own sound. Really good musicianship here. I don't have anything bad to say about the band or album.

I went ahead and bought this CD even though I think it may be on YouTube or Spotify. I like to collect CD's and this one I wanted to have for my own collection. I would say continue to support the music community and get it too, but not everyone nowadays is eager to collect CD's anymore. If it wasn't for a friend, I wouldn't have known about this band. She was quite appalled to hear that they broke up. As was I when I saw their status. I can still appreciate this release musically a masterpiece. They were a really good band with a decent track record this one again being my favorite. Check it out! (Death8699)

Eidolon - Hallowed Apparition

#FOR FANS OF: Power Thrash, Nevermore
What a dynamic piece! Blending in three genres all at once. The guitars were amazing and the vocals perfectly drawn out. I really liked this whole album. It's a shame that they're broken up! I cannot get enough of this release. The music itself is that what's captivating. And the energy of it all. What some great musicians for this album! The riffs are so elegant and well played out as were the solo guitar pieces. I just have nothing but good things to say about this release. What musicianship, talent and great heavy/power/thrash metal that goes along with this entire piece of work. The music itself isn't too fast tempos and it's more captivating that way!

Every riff is coordinated to mix amongst-side the vocals as if they were perfectly in unison with them. And given that this is a quite diverse sort of metal album, you have clean areas in small bits mixed with a majority of thick distorted guitar riffs. The solos are sublime in construction. I enjoyed them also. But mostly the guitar and vocals are what's appealed to me the most. Everyone did a great job too in construction of musicianship. Again, it's too bad about their split not long after this album was released. And if it weren't for a friend of mine, I would've never encountered this band/project.

Production sound was adequate with making this an above average release. Quite into the genius in musicianship. I couldn't be happier with the outcome of this release and just wish that they would've stayed together. But I'm sure it was a mutual consent to end their effort in the making of albums within this scope. Their guitarist Glen Drover is in many different bands-past and present. What a diverse musical career he's had. He's been a part of many different successful bands - Megadeth, Queensryche, et al. So that's probably the reason why the band has taken a split mutually concerned in the way of metal.

I heard this first on Spotify and then decided to get a copy in the mail via in the form of a CD. It's just such a great album that didn't get enough press in my opinion. These guys know how the hell to make some great songs. And what a great band! I was wondering what the score would be and I thought "next to perfect." They really did some great work throughout the album. All the songs were strong! I didn't experience any lack thereof in songs each one was not greater or lesser than in any respect. They tore it up musically here covering three different genres stomping all of them! Check them out! (Death8699)

Primordial - To the Nameless Dead

BACK IN TIME:
E correva l'anno 2007... Six Feet Under - 13

BACK IN TIME:
(Francesco Scarci)

Desaster - Churches Without Saints

#FOR FANS OF: Black/Thrash
This album packs a big punch! Aside from the overlapping genres, it's an acquired taste. I liked the album immensely! These guys know how to comprise songs that sting but in a good way. The vocals are aggressive. It's like hoarse mixed with a scream at the same time! Well, if that's possible. The tempos are moderate and well composed riffs! Heavy and fast, but catchy. They show some variations in the guitar department (clean tone guitars) segueing into heavy riffs. Not on all songs, but only a select few. The whole album packs a big punch! The music on some songs are slow, but not entirely for the bulk of the release.

The vocals gauge how the guitars are played and go alongside the voice quite well. I enjoyed all portions of the album! Glad it was full of such diversity as well as originality. So yeah, these guys know what they're doing and it shows in the compositions. They sound a touch like Viking metal but not wholeheartedly. Just to a certain extent. They play with a lot of feel and the emotion of anger is rampant! The vibe extenuates that sort of feeling, anger especially. But in any respect, the feel is all their and a lot of well composed riffs. They're pretty king in respect to feel and aggression.

The sound quality is quite good, production-wise very solid. I didn't have a problem with any of the sound on here. The vocals in a certain sense are somewhat overpowering but good. The music and voice was well mixed throughout I didn't have any complaints. They really know what they're doing on here and it comes out in the music. A lot of overt aggression that like I said packs a punch in the brutality of certain riffs and songs. The genres intermix with everything played on here and it's a unique combination of genres they're in! I really liked the feel and simple dynamics.

I bought the CD to this album and I was certain that it was going to be good. Of course you can download this on Spotify and YouTube but I wanted to try a physical copy. I want to support music and the band. I overall thought this album was worth such a high rating because to me it was quite innovative and unique. I don't come across genres of black/thrash metal too often. I'm glad that there's such a genre or category this falls into. Do your part as a promoter of metal and do yourself a favor: purchase the physical CD. It's well worth it! (

Cannibal Corpse - Violence Unimagined

#FOR FANS OF: Brutal Death
I checked out a few tracks on here and it got me curious.Upon official release in the states, I downloaded the whole album on Spotify. I was really impressed so I went ahead and bought the CD. I thought that the riffs were really solid and now entire Rutan and exit O'brien. I think it was a good move for the band though I was a fan of O'brien's guitar playing. The solos on here weren't their greatest, but Barrett was still solid. The whole band was responsible for the songwriting which of whom were the ones that performed the best on here. I thought that Corpsegrinder was solid too, but it's a lot less screaming.

All the tracks to me were interesting and catchy. They're still tuned down to B-flat creating that real low sound guitar/bass wise. I thought they were heavy as f***. Everything seemed to flow rampantly and overall, I thought their best since 'Gallery of Suicide' and 'A Skeletal Domain'. 'Red Before Black' was also solid but I just liked this more. I thought that they put together a lot of their talent on here and it really showed overall. The music videos were also pretty vile, but it's Cannibal Corpse, what do you expect?! The sound quality on here is top notch as well. Overall, definitely an A-.

There wasn't anything on here that was half-assed or done without precision. I felt all 42 minutes of this was exceptional. And the production sound was right on there. Yeah, they also don't sing about religion or politics but gore?! In that respect, controversial. Some of their lyrics were banned in foreign countries. Not for this album (that I know of) but if they haven't seen the lyric sheet, they might as well. Nevertheless, we still have their music down. And if Rutan stays with the band for succeeding releases, he'll be damn well as good as he is on here! As long as they continue to come together on the songwriting, they continue to have a long career (as they already have!).

As I said, I was curious to see if this was more solid or about equal to 'Red Before Black' upon a couple of tracks that were singles, I found that I like this one more. Am I saying flat out buy the CD? No! But if you give this a chance, you'll hear that the riffs are more solid on here than they are on previous recordings. And Corpsegrinder tells interviewers too that it was a one-in-a-million chance that he'd fit in a band which he always wanted to ignoring schoolwork to perform in a band which was his passion. That's brought him today with numerous releases on Cannibal Corpse albums since early on. His message though: "stay in school." And 'Violence Unimagined' is a boon to their discography! (Death8699)

The Crown - Royal Destroyer

#FOR FANS OF: Death Metal
I'm not a huge fan of this band, I've owned albums from them that I didn't keep. Heard about it from a Chicagoan and decided to give it a try. WHOA! This one is unrelenting metal galore! I would say that there aren't many peaks and valleys in this one, it's mostly fierce the whole way through. The vocals I can tolerate as well and the guitars just slay. Not to mention the quality of the riffs! They are simply dynamite! I don't really have anything ill-fated to say about this one. They really upped the intensity to the nth degree. I don't see any fallouts on this one ('Royal Destroyer'). They did a great job.

Now I'd have to say that their tempos range but the intensity of the vocals make the songs more striking. The overall musicianship is phenomenal. I never knew that sounds like this from the band were ever possible! But they made dynamite and brimstone here. They do change things up every so bit, but the majority of the album is just brutal melodic metal. The riffs are catchy and noteworthy. The vocals blast the eardrums to the utmost intensity! I liked everything that they did here. There was nothing on here that I disliked. Their unique riff style and choice of songwriting is just utterly magical.

The sound quality was just perfection, ABSOLUTELY. They did their label and fans justice on this one. The rhythms, leads, vocals and drums just are like this ever flowing stream. They kick major ass on here. All the songs are amazing and exceptional. They slay on every track no matter what tempo they're at. They did change things up making it a more diverse release. But this is something different than what I was used to for this band which was the riff writing. They put a lot of time to get the songs unique in their own style. I think that this is one of their best albums to date. So good to discover this one!

Mainly, I didn't like previous releases because I didn't think that they were equivocal to 'Royal Destroyer'. They really sound great and their melodic riffs kick some major ass! I heard this first on Spotify then immediately bought the release. It was definitely worth buying since my cd player plays us cd collectors at top notch sound. This is one of the releases of this year that is one of the best in the genre. I liked the whole album through and though. They definitely kicked major ass the whole way through. They know how to make phenomenal releases and then some. Check it out! (Death8699)
