#FOR FANS OF: Black/Death |
This is a somewhat raw death/black metal onslaught by these two newer musicians that demonstrate superiority upright with this album! The guttural vocals and brutal guitar riffs summon the antichrist with this abomination. Definitely dark and dreary a debut that scolds the righteous reigning in darkness. The music is outright depressing and the riffs quite original. Don't expect anything but your utmost darkening disturbance with this album. They know how to utter chaos and despair especially in this pandemic. The music here is a pandemic itself, with it's moments of fast guitar mixed with despondent chokehold.
I would have to say that upon repeated listens to, 'The Impalement' is one of the darkest releases I've heard from this year. Not Vader, not anyone else these guys show bleakness in it's path to destruction. The double bass kicking, the tremolo picking guitar riffs and the production sound is all ever disparaging. Weird they're just a 2-piece. But they sure as hell know how to bludgeoning destroy your eardrums. They really show that even with a debut that they have a long career ahead of them. With the originality and brutality, Impalement knows how to get every last bit of utmost dreariness out there.
The vocals mixed with the guitar causes desperation and depressing after effects. There's no dropping these guys, they're in for the long haul. Somewhat like Darkthrone but more brutal and the mixture of both death/black metal combined making them unique. There are some songs that are filled with hatred and others more of a groove laden guitar work. But overall they show you how they destroy your speakers with sounds like never before. A shit-ton of tremolo picking and double bass. Not something to listen to on a dark, depressing day. The can overindulge you with depression.
Maybe check Spotify or YouTube for songs. I supported the band by buying the CD. You won't hear much more darkness that this one here especially on a debut. The guitar solos need a little work but the rhythms are wholly original and death-defying. You'll get it all here, one monument of noise destruction. These guys demonstrate hatred here and blasphemy. Show them that you can appreciate their efforts especially the frontman by getting this one on CD. They need more support and more people listening to their musicianship. It definitely slays galore!
