#FOR FANS OF: Black Metal |
What a killer and uncompromising record, it reminds me a little of older Marduk and Mayhem. The music doesn't seem to let up except an instrumental acoustic track entitled "Arestis", which airs for about two and a half minutes. The vocals are tolerable as well, it seems as though everything on here fits. However, it's not something to listen to in a somber mood, as it tends to be entirely dark and dreary in terms of the overall vibe here.
I can't just pick out 1–2 songs because really there aren't of them that I dislike. I'm not big on black metal really, it's hard for me to hear because the aura to these releases is exceedingly grim. There are exceptions, of course, just most of the time with these bands I'm in violent opposition to the lyrics they spout out. Vultur is no exception, I'd rather stay blind to the words and just enjoy the music.
The band did reach out a few months back as I was very impressed with what I heard on YouTube past and present. I did decide to pre-order it in light of what I heard and man, I heard the entirety of this approximate 36 minute LP and was blown away. The music is pretty much a conglomeration of tremolo picking rhythms and chords alongside the blasphemous vocals plus fierce drums, which is entirely immaculate. The recording was precise, and it captured the heart and soul of this band, their LP is one of the best black metal albums I've heard in quite some time.
If your desire is something grim, yet fast, uncompromising and straightforward, this album is for you! (Death8699)
