#FOR FANS OF: Death Metal |
This follow-up is actually NOT entirely like the first, nor is it recycled like so many bands after successful debut releases! This took around 3 years to complete, but well worth the wait!
I've found this to be a better quality recording & the guitars are ABSOLUTELY/genuinely & increasingly more wicked! When I say this as it refers to a musical standpoint, I mean that they've stepped-up & devolved stronger riff-writing! This LP is also featuring fresh material
that I'm guessing took quite a while to come up with! I also enjoy the vocal
trade-offs, it seemed to spice things up quite a bit! An excellent effort, just
wished it was better received. I did think after the first LP that they had a lot of people hoping that the sophomore effort
would be stronger. And well, the recording quality was a step-up; others
thought that the music may’ve been better on their debut, not on this one. I’ve
found that pretty much equally they’re musically strong, the first just the
sound quality was not as up-to-par.
As the LP
progresses, it doesn’t let up in intensity, nor does it fall to unto utter
staleness or blandness. It’s rather consistent & intriguing, as deafening
sounds rip through your speakers! I was quite impressed with the overall
musicianship, especially some relatively newer death metal musicians
involved in the scene!
The only negative thing I have to say is that the
album is only a little under 30 minutes.
That's all right though because you’ll be (I’m sure) impressed with this band’s
follow-up! 200 Stab Wounds have made two official music videos from 'Manual Manic Procedures' called "Hands of Eternity" & “Gross Abuse.” Check them out on YouTube! (Death8699)
