Perdition Temple - Merciless Upheaval

#FOR FANS OF: Brutal Death Metal
Who can hear this and not want to write a bit about it? It has balls-out intensity. Gene from Angelcorpse that led the way for that band. He smokes on here with a somewhat raw production sound but good death/black metal. I've found the whole album to be interesting in terms of the sound and Gene's vocals slay! This is sort of a modern Angelcorpse if there was one. I don't hear any mistakes or forced vocals. Everything seems to be in tandem with everything else. These guys have some balls-out intensity. And the lead guitar is wicked as is, no need to change that as well.

It's weird though that it's four original songs and four cover songs. They were all well played out. The vocals go well with the guitar. These guys seem to progress on each succeeding release. And the sound is wicked, I love this type of production. It has you keyed into every song. Fast and furious yet instances of mild playing, but not much. They are fierce with these songs and impeccable covers. I especially like "Blood On My Hands" from Morbid Angel's 'Covenant' album. It was immaculate! Sounded just like the original. Their own songs too sound really amazing. Sucks that this album is only 33+ minutes.

Like I said about the sound quality, it's great! The production is justifiable. They don't fall short of the game of immaculate musicianship. These guys have stayed around and Gene post Angelcorpse. From my understanding, these guys are in multiple bands. Gene is pretty cool as a person and seems to respect his fans the way his fans respect the band. He returns messages not that they're musicians with much idle time but he reached out which was surprising. This raises my respect for the band. And I do my best to make sure that these underground bands get the press that they so deserve.

I bought this album on CD from Hells Headbangers. But you can find it streaming. What an onslaught! These guys know what the hell their doing and it shows on the outcome of this LP. They really sound great but not overly polished. A release to chalk up another in the Perdition Temple discography. But they need a bigger fan-base. I'm sure death/black or just metal fans can appreciate this. The guitars and vocals are my favorite parts of the album. They just annihilated this time around, yet again! I really hope that they have a long life to this band. They have so much talent and resilience. Check them out! (Death8699)

Perdition Temple - Edict of the Antichrist Elect

#FOR FANS OF: Brutal Death
This album is a MONUMENT. Gene from Angelcorpse really delivers big time. I found no fault in this release. It's blackened death metal galore with riffs that just tear your eardrums apart. And wholly original, too! I liked how the production came out so well giving the whole release glory. Of course this is way underground metal and worthy of utmost praise! The tremolo picked guitars are top notch. All the music on here is totally innovative and essential when you make a remarkable album into what it truly is. These guys don't dick around in terms of the songwriting. They really made a unique release into what it is.

I liked this album only, their other release(s) I don't care much for. But that's alright, I still find them to be an interesting band. The energy is just so wicked and the aura is wholly in the evil realm. There is just nothing with flaw in it on here. They just built this up into a monument! Gene's riff writing reflects that of the Angelcorpse days. But I think this is a step up. At least for this project he started. It's amazing that this album has been out for 10 years and there's been no one that's reviewed it until now! I wanted to make a bold statement to metal fans that's why, and why they should check this out.

Everything is accordance to perfection. I cannot find any flaws with the riffs, the songwriting, the mixing and the originality as well as influences. It is just a sheer abomination to the eardrums. The riffs are probably the best thing on the album aside from the drums. These guys definitely knew what they were getting into in making this cast-iron iconic LP. No flaws, none. I like the fact that the tempos never seem to let up at all. They really hit home on everything here. I don't know why they choose to regress instead of progress. That would be not up to me or would be my choice but this remains to be one of the top releases in the metal department of the year (2010 - and reissued in 2021).

I cannot believe still that there's no one that bothered to cover this release. They really have it all here tempos fast and riff amazing rhythms without any sort of flaws. Heavy, brutal, fast, and the leads slayed. If you don't hear this band, then that's a disservice not only to the metal community and the band themselves. So please, check them out! They are a band that's highly underrated and one album that will probably be marked as your top ten releases of all time! The album isn't going anywhere except on your CD player or in your earbuds! Get ready for an explosion in your ears! (

Perdition Temple - Sacraments of Descension

#FOR FANS OF: Death Metal
This one is reminiscent of their debut, with solid rhythms, production quality, vocals and mixing. The actual leads aren't as top notch as they were on the debut, but the rhythms overshadow that. So this is OK, but it's not going to be as good of a rating on here. The riffs are wholly original and in your face FAST! There isn't a song on here that isn't worthy of some sort of praise, just wish they left out the solos. Gene doesn't seem to be hacking it out 10 years later upon virtue of their first release. But he still came up with sick rhythm guitar-work. That I can respect absolutely. And catchy, too!

The vocals go along well with the music and these riffs are fresh. It's chapter 2 in their book not sure what their previous album was about. They were a 5-piece and was nothing at all like the first and this release. I actually chose not to review that one I'll just leave it alone. Every song on here is good rhythm/vocal wise. The ton of the guitars and the originality of the riffs, PERFECTION, indeed! The music is what stole it for me. Totally awesome riffs! It took a couple of rounds hearing this album before it really sunk in at hit home with me. I enjoyed this album immensely. Truly!

There's nothing bad to say about this release except (as previously mentioned) the lead guitar work. It just got a little sloppy. The rhythms definitely made up for it. Total originality in the respect! It's totally reminiscent of the first album. The tempos and guitar work as well as the vocals bring the listener back to the days where their debut hit home. I would venture to say that this is their 2nd best release to date. It's worth the wait (5 years) because it totally crushes. The music is what stole it for me and the overall sound was definitely there, too. I didn't miss out on anything here.

I would encourage you to take a listen on YouTube this album because it sounds like the first one just a little more polished in the rhythm department. From start to finish the intensity is really high! Fast, brutal, unrelenting and chaotic! They don't miss a beat here! I was taken aback by this band releasing one that sounded like the debut and this one is it! A good progression from their last. Let's just hope next time the leads are a little better. But the songwriting was immensely insurmountable. I few listens to and I don't doubt that you'll be blown away by this blackened death metal devastation! Check it out! (Death8699)
