Jungle Rot - Terror Regime

#FOR FANS OF: Brutal Death
This album has some amazing riffs. This band puts out some amazing riffs. The only negative or beef I have with this album are the lead guitars. I didn't feel like they were good enough to compliment the rhythms. The vocals compliment the guitar licks, for sure. It's just: "come on guys, get rid of the leads!" I believe they put them in there to vary the sound but if you're not going to shred without being sloppy, then don't be sloppy! I'd have to agree though with my previous statements about the amazing riffs. These guys from Kenosha put together some great rhythms. Amazing, again simply amazing!

The production is quality, too. They do the guitars justice. I don't want to spend an entire text on the guitars only and I won't. They other instruments and vocals are quality as well. They really are an overlooked band. That is, in the death metal community. I would venture to say for them to audition for a better lead guitarist. If not, take out the leads, They'd get a higher rating from me if they did that but it's up to the band to say something to the effect: "hey, we need some lead work to be top notch. Let's take them out until we find someone who can fill those shoes." End of discussion.

Their DRI cover was pretty sick though. It's only 1 minute 40 seconds in length but the whole cover kicks some serious ass! This album isn't substantially long, but it's still quite solid to go along with their entire discography. They need to become more well known. I realize this release is about 7-8 years old, but that doesn't mean that it sucks. It's solid and worthy of praise, If they can brush up on their weak points, then they'll conquer! I got into this band a while ago because they put out some of the greatest death metal rhythms. The songwriting is simply amazing. I cannot overlook that.

You can get this available via download but I'd stress getting a physical CD of it. That is, because then you'll be able to capture the ingenuity of the album on your stereo. I realize this is an age of digital downloads and you can get that on Spotify. But if you want to hear the greatness of the band (because I'm old school) buy the CD! I'm sure that you'll enjoy it as much as I did when I first heard it. Support music, this band needs your undying support. They'll keep going as long as they know that they're capturing the masses with their great musicianship and talent. Long live Jungle Rot! (Death8699)
